Sculpture is form, upward projection, hymn, relativity/minimality of every impulse, awareness of the unattainable.
Wood and bronze are the materials which, in small and large formats, dominate the work around Fernanda Fedi’s Steles in an anthropological project, of a human scale and memorial of sculpture with a frontal dominance.
This frontality favors a ‘legibility’ and a management of space that is well suited to a sculpture with a strong sign and pictorial recurrence – primarily in the woods but with an accurate management of the light and the patinas also in the bronzes – and has a strong connotation and depth of meaning and senses.
Organic matter and metallurgical knowledge, in the imaginative regimes of the vegetable world and fire, are linked to ancient traditions not through philology, but through imaginative regimes that refer to a matured tradition, which has become its own body and corporeity of sculpture.
